PHR/SPHR Certification
(A facilitated study group)
In this facilitated self-study program, participants will learn the fundamentals of the SHRM Body of Knowledge as it pertains to the PHR/SPHR certification exam. The body of knowledge includes the responsibilities and knowledge possessed by individuals certified as a PHR / SPHR.
Additionally, participants will be given the opportunity to lead study sessions while having an Employers Group consultant provide guidance on HR strategy, management, practices, and compliance issues as it pertains directly to the certification process. Through this approach, attendees become much more engaged in the learning process and more comfortable presenting information.
The final two sessions are geared specifically to test-taking skills whereby attendees will learn to dissect difficult questions to identify the best possible answers. This program is highly interactive and includes pre-work to be completed before each class session. Upon completion, participants will be more prepared to take the PHR/SPHR certification exam. This 14 week program will cover the following components:

Registration includes the 2008 SHRM Learning System; however, does not include HRCI exam and other applicable fees. Upon conclusion, registrants will be able to take either the PHR or SPHR exam during the testing windows conducted by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
Participants are strongly encouraged to familiarize themselves with the eligibility for certification, testing windows, and exam requirements located at www.hrci.org.
Important Note: Since this program provides the fundamentals for the SHRM Bodies of Knowledge, California-specific labor requirements cannot be reviewed.
