We assisted one of our members, a high-tech service provider with approximately 250 employees, in obtaining ISO 9000 certification. This member was one of the first in their industry to devote resources to obtaining the ISO 9000 certification. The member was seeking to achieve:
We worked with this member over several months to define internal processes and then revise them where necessary. A significant part of this engagement involved training selected company employees as ongoing process improvement facilitators. We led the group in establishing Corrective Action Teams to evaluate and act on opportunities for improvement submitted by employees, customers or vendors.
Upon completion of the certification process, the member was able to demonstrate external market value by communicating their ISO 9000 certification to current and potential customers. Additionally, the member realized internal benefits in improved communication with employees, greater employee participation and satisfaction, enhanced work process efficiency and decreased service errors.
