The rate increased to 48.5 cents a mile between Sept. 1 and Dec. 31, 2005. On January 1, 2006 the rate was 44.5 cents per mile. Starting January 1, 2007 the rate is 48.5 cents per mile.
On January 1, 2008 the rate increased to 50.5 cents per mile.
From July 1, 2008 through December 31, 2008 the rate is set at: 58.5 cents per mile. Bbeginning Jan. 1, 2009, the rate will be 55 cents per mile
