Ethics in the Workplace – What Every Company Needs to Know
Thursday, May 29, 8:30am – 10:30am or 1:00pm – 3:00pm
Join us for a special presentation, offered at two different times.
Does character really count in the workplace? For example: You discover that one of your buyers is knowingly overcharging a customer. You are told by your CEO that “what employees don’t know, can’t hurt them,” as the CEO makes a false statement to your workforce about the company’s financial condition. What’s the difference between willful lying and “ethically poor judgment?” Exactly what are the Federal Sentencing Guidelines (FSG's) rules that now require employers to adopt comprehensive ethics and compliance programs, and to train everyone on the fundamental components of those programs? How could your company be painfully liable if you don’t carry out the workforce training required by the act? These questions and the answers to them will be discussed, facilitated by Doug Sjoberg, Senior Trainer and Consultant. |

How to comply with the U.S. Immigration Laws and Not Go to Jail!
Thursday, May 22, 8:30am – 10:00am
Not a day goes by that immigration is not mentioned in the press, on Lou Dobbs, or in the halls of Congress. Two primary issues come up: (1) the need for employers to have access to global talents and (2) solving the “illegal” immigrant dilemma. While these are two distinct issues, they overlap considerably and have an impact on every U.S. employer. (Please note the Form I-9 is an immigration form). Presenter, Immigration Attorney Edward Litwin will address key topics such as: Why don’t the immigration laws make sense; what is the new E-verify system; how can you get work visas for new employees; what are the common I-9 compliance various and finds; how do you establish an I-9 compliance system; and how do you keep away from discrimination and liability issues?
