Who & Where to Call

Account Teams - Your First Point of Contact

Every member company has its own regional Employers Group Account Team assigned to answer compliance questions and help resolve issues using EG’s internal and external resources. Account Teams include a Helpline Consultant, Member Representative, Reference Librarian and Coordinator.

How to Reach Your Team

There are five Account Teams, each designated to help members in specific geographic areas.

All Account Teams can be reached through EG’s toll-free number. Call (800) 748-8484 to be connected to your Team Coordinator.

For most information requests, call or email your Team Coordinator as your first point of contact. The Team Coordinator will guide you through our member services, and will have information about workshops and HR seminars being held in your geographical area.

Customer Advocate

We want to ensure that all our members are 100% satisfied with their Employers Group relationships. To give you the opportunity to voice your opinion about your experiences with Employers Group we have launched a Customer Advocate Program. This program is designed so that members who have comments about (or have not received satisfaction with some aspect of ) membership or other services can give us feedback and help us improve.

Members can contact the Customer Advocate by either phone or email. By phone please call 800.748.8484 and select option #5. The call will immediately be routed to the Customer Advocate. By email please send your feedback to advocate@employersgroup.com and someone will get back to within two hours of receipt of the message.

Unemployment Insurance Services
Contact Sarah Rios at (213) 765-3965

For over thirty years, Employers Group has provided a UI service dedicated to helping clients reduce their UI costs and look beyond UI liability. We handle issues on various state codes that address other claim eligibility issues. For example, we are able to provide helpful information needed to close open workers’ compensation claims.

Our core service is a six-part control program designed to protect employers from unwarranted charges and at the same time provide the necessary expertise to reduce the need to administer the UI program in-house. The unemployment insurance program is complex with codes, regulations, and precedent benefits decisions unfamiliar to most HR generalists.

Part One - Management Education
We keep you informed on changes in UI law and regulations. We train your managers on the concepts of UI eligibility issues and the essential role managers play in UI cost control. We provide a termination report and exit questionnaire in order to gain information needed to win a decision at the very first level of the determination process. We also provide training to the HR staff on how the UI program works.

Part Two - Claim Administration
Each claim is processed through our computerized system. Disputed claims are protested and tracked through final disposition. We also respond to state telephone inquiries on former employees. Our staff bring added value to our service through many years of building a respected relationship with state employment representatives and administrative law judges.

Part Three - Hearing Representation
We provide specialized representation at administrative UI hearings with no additional cost per hearing. We also select and prepare witnesses if needed.

Part Four - Audit
Using our computerized claim tracking system, we audit your statement of benefit charges. This system automatically generates a protest of any questionable charges.

Part Five - Consulting
Our experts are available to advise you on difficult disciplinary action or terminations and consult on UI hearings with open work compensation claims pending.

Part Six - Accountability
We communicate with our clients on each state decision and the next step. We provide quarterly claim activity and summary reports with potential dollar amount liability.

We also service employers who’ve chosen the reimbursable method of financing UI. Non-profit organizations including colleges, hospitals and municipal governments have found it valuable to have the largest human resources association of its kind administering their UI program. Special strategic processes have been developed to keep their UI costs under control.
