Mark Nelson came to the Employers Group from another employer association, where he worked with member companies on a variety of labor and employment matters before both state and federal administrative agencies. He has represented employers in labor arbitrations, hearings before the National Labor Relations Board, claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor, as well as matters before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission. His experiences also encompass workplace investigations, employee handbooks, immigration issues, and training employees on legal issues impacting the workplace.
Mark earned his B.A. in Humanities from the University of Colorado at Boulder, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. He obtained his M.A. in English Literary Research from the U.K.'s University of Lancaster while on a fellowship to study there, and, later, a J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a senior editor for the school's law review.
