Juan P. Garcia
Director of Research

Juan P. Garcia provides overall direction to the Employers Group's Research program - one of the largest non-profit HR survey programs in the U.S. The program’s mission is the compilation and distribution of annual compensation, benefits, and general HR policies reports to the association membership. Comprising data from hundreds of California companies, these reports are some of the best and most reliable reports used by major California companies.

Over the last 14 years, Juan has expanded the programs and services available through the department including complete survey coverage of all major metro areas in California. Also, as part of this expansion and with the collaboration of other associations in the U.S., Juan produced the EMPLOYERS GROUP's first national compensation survey: The National Compensation Survey on IT Professionals. Now in its 9th edition, this report is among the best national compensation surveys in the U.S. relative to indexing compensation levels for information technology classifications. Other national survey efforts have led to the introduction of national surveys addressing compensation for sales personnel and executive-level compensation.

Initially, Juan joined the Employers Group in 1987 as a Research Analyst. He left in 1989, to work as a Compensation Systems Specialist for AVNET, Inc., a Fortune 500 company. In 1993, he returned to Employers Group to head the Research Services Department. He now provides overall direction to Employers Group’s Research program which has expended to include organizational assessment services and the new Best Workplaces Program.

Juan has extensive professional background in research methods, compensation, systems and HRIS. He holds a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology from California State University, Los Angeles. His professional affiliations include membership with WorldatWork, Los Angeles Compensation and Benefits Association, and the Employers Association Group -National Survey Committee.
